Set To Arrive In Spring 2016

After debuting at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, the long awaited 2017 Acura NSX is set to hit the showrooms this spring equipped with two electric motors and a twin turbo 3.5OL V6 in one of the most powerful hybrid combinations on the market. Whether you are hooked on power or are more about gorgeous angels, the 2017 NSX is sure to please.  While the initial concept car shown in Detroit was nothing short of amazing, the design team at Acura decided to go back to the drawing board and create what to many will be a dream come true.

Power To Spare

While many manufacturers are content to install one or two electric motors in their hybrids, Acura's engineers simply saw this as a starting point. The 2017 NSX features back to back electric motors on the front driving axles and a direct drive unit connected directly to the rear axle to complement the twin turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 engine that pumps out a very impressive 573 horsepower and delivers a healthy 476 lb-ft of pure adrenalin pumping torque to the all-wheel drive system.

All of this power is delivered to the Acura Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system via a nine-speed paddle shifted dual clutch transmission. This system works with the twin electric motors and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential providing independent control to all four wheels.

On The Inside

The interior of the 2017 NSX is fully decked out in fine grain leather as befits a car of this lineage. The seats are fitted with Alcantara inserts to help keep you in your seat during high speed cornering. The NSX features the very latest in Acura infotainment controlled by a state of the art touchscreen. One feature that drivers will truly enjoy is that the digital gauges automatically adjust as you change the driving modes from "Quiet Sport" to "Sport-Plus" or "Track-Driving".

These settings not only move the red-line on the tachometer, but also change the steering ratio, throttle responsiveness, suspension set-up, brake operation, and believe it or not the exhaust sound. Bear in mind that the NSX is only designed to operate in hybrid mode when you have the settings turned to Quiet Sport.

Safety First and Foremost

With so much power at hand, it is only natural that Acura would do something spectacular with regards to stopping the 2017 NXS in a hurry and safely. The 2017 NSX is equipped with six-piston Brembo disc brakes featuring 14.5-inch ceramic plates up front and four-piston Brembo disc brakes with 14-inch plates in the rear. This regenerative braking system increases the amount of brake fluid used as the system heats up to maintain a firm pedal and maximum stopping power.

From faster 0 to 60 mph speeds than the Porsche 911 Turbo, the Ferrari 458, and the Audi A8 to amazing new lines the all-new 2017 Acura NSX is sure to please even the most discerning "Japanese Supercar" buyer. This car is the true embodiment of everything Acura has learned over the last quarter of century since the introduction of the first of its line.
